Both the Twister® and Up Down Girl® brands originated at Melle in Ganderkesee. The new ranges – Fluffy®, Rasta Girls® and Sunset Fire® – are, of course, also managed by this creative company.

Here at Gärtnerei Melle, we think sustainably and always consider the future. We produce high-quality plants for our customers and take our social and environmental responsibility very seriously. Our plant production has been MPSA+ certified for five years now. Our work processes have been accredited with GLOBALG.A.P. GRASP since 2022.
Each plastic pot is made of 100% recycled PCR material.

80 Years of Melle – Three Generations Through the Ages
The Company's History
Begins
In 1946, Georg Melle
laid the foundation
for the company. Immediately after World War II, the focus was on growing fruits and vegetables. Later, a wide variety of ornamental plants were added.
Carolin Melle Suddenly Becomes Company President
At the age of 20, Carolin Melle takes over her late father’s business and continues to run it alongside operations manager Cord Drücker and with the support of the entire Melle team. Traditional values meet innovative ideas, and Melle Nursery evolves into a driving force behind the Gardengirls® brand.
Progress with Vision
2026 is all about further development and optimization for us.
A major milestone has already been the modernization of our
outdoor facilities: Last year, we began equipping a large portion
of our container areas with lava to create optimal growing
conditions – and further areas will follow this year.
